Volleyball Rotation Generator is a free set of tools for volleyball coaches, players and parents. Build legal rotations for the 5-1, 6-2, 4-2 and 6-6, print lineup sheets and rotation sheets, run a scoreboard that tracks the rotation, and learn the rules in plain English. There is no account and no signup. Your teams are saved on your own device.
The site is built and run by EmproIT, a small web tools publisher. We are not a league or a rules body.
How we check the rules
Every rule the tools use comes from one research sheet, built from the official rulebooks and state association documents listed below. The tools never guess a rule. Where rule bodies differ, or where we could not confirm the exact wording, the tool turns the rule into a setting with a sensible default and the page says "check your league".
- NFHS (US high school), 2026-27 rules, including the new two-libero rule.
- USA Volleyball (club), 2025-27 rules.
- NCAA (college), 2026 rules.
- FIVB (international), 2025-28 rules, including the change that no longer checks the serving team for overlap.
Rules last reviewed: . We review them every August, before the high school season, and every December, before club season.
How we test the tools
The rotation engine is tested automatically every time the site is built. The tests check every system, every rotation, every serve receive formation and every rule set for overlap faults, check that the libero never lands in the front row, and run 10,000 random lineups through two independent overlap checkers to make sure they agree. The scoreboard logic is tested set by set: rally scoring, win by 2, the deciding set (15 by default), substitution limits, re-entry to the same spot, youth serve limits and undo.
